Our Story
Mother Hookers began with two women who loved to crochet and were searching for a friendly evening group in Doncaster. After meeting at a daytime group outside the area, they realised there was nothing local that suited busy schedules and after work life, so they decided to create it themselves.
From the beginning, the aim was to build a warm and welcoming space where people could come together, craft, chat and feel at home. A place that felt easy to walk into, even alone, where everyone is greeted with kindness and made to feel included.
As the group has grown, the focus has remained the same. Connection, creativity and genuine community spirit sit at the heart of everything we do. What started as a simple idea has become a space where people feel valued, supported and part of something meaningful.
Creative Learning
Beginners and experienced crocheters are supported. We share tips, patterns and guidance so people can grow at their own pace.
Social Connection
Our Hook Ups are relaxed, chatty and a great place to form friendships. Many members say it is the highlight of their week.
Community Projects
We take part in meaningful creative projects including charity fundraising, poppy displays and hat making campaigns.
