What Are 'Hook Ups'?
Hook Ups are relaxed and welcoming crochet socials where anyone can drop in, bring a project, have a chat and enjoy some creative time together. Whether you are a complete beginner or have been crocheting for years, you will find friendly faces, plenty of support and a lovely atmosphere.
We run regular sessions across Doncaster and surrounding areas, including daytime and evening meet ups in a variety of local venues. Each group offers the same warm welcome and relaxed environment, making it easy to join whenever it suits you.
A Warm Welcome
Every session is designed to feel easy to walk into, even if you are coming on your own. New members are welcomed into the group and given a small welcome pack to help them get started and feel part of the community from day one.
Relaxed Creativity
Bring along your own project or start something new when you arrive. While we do not run formal lessons, there is always someone happy to offer guidance, share tips or help you get started.
Social Connection
Our Hook Ups are friendly, chatty and full of laughter. They are a great way to meet new people, unwind and enjoy a couple of hours in a positive and creative space.
A Bit of Fun
Alongside crochet, we like to keep things light and enjoyable with small optional activities during sessions. It is all part of creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where people can have fun as well as craft.
What To Expect
What To Bring
Bring your current crochet project if you have one. If not, simply come along. There are often materials available for community projects, so everyone can join in regardless of experience.
Supporting the Group
Our Hook Ups are designed to stay accessible to everyone. If you would like to support the group, there is usually an opportunity to contribute towards running costs such as materials and venue hire. Any support helps us continue to provide these sessions for the community.
